With a push from the energy minister Dullas Alahaperuma the cabinet has approved the construction of two new wind power plants under Sri Lanka’s largest renewable energy provider Windforce Pvt Ltd under a Build- Own Operate basis (BOO)
Windforce Pvt Ltd will invest over LKR 3.1 billion in the construction of the two wind power plants in the 25 acre plot of land in the Mannar region to have a plant load factor of 45%. Windforce Pvt Ltd is planning to commence constructions on the 4th quarter of 2021 and hopes to complete the projects by the 4th quarter of 2022.
With the construction of the two new power plants Windforce’s already impressive energy generating portfolio will increase up to 84.2 MW
