Hosting the inaugural Issuer Forum 2021 under the theme “Founder to Family – Leveraging Going Public” in the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) invited family businesses to list in the stock market. The forum received an encouraging response as it saw the participation of over 70 representatives from Sri Lanka’s leading family businesses.
Information released shows that many companies are interested in the tax advantages and regulatory benefits that can be attained post IPO. The family companies that are taking the first steps into going public include Prime Lands, the property company and the local paint company JAT Holdings. The market has been buzzing with conversations as these companies aim to go public.
