Sri Lanka will receive two financial aid packages collectively worth $900 million from India. The financial aid will come in the form of a $400 million swap facility and a $500 million fuel credit.
One of the financial aid packages is said to be in the nation’s coffers by the 10th of January, 2022. The information received also notes that the $1 billion facility sought by the government will take some time owing to the documentation involved.
