PickMe Takes Driver And Customer Protection To The Next Level

PickMe, arguably Sri Lanka’s largest taxi company over the past one and half years has invested over LKR 50 million to ensure the utmost safety of its drivers and passengers.

The company has implemented several new innovations and safety measures that utilize its mobile app and vehicles. A newly installed indicator icon in the app allows passengers to check the vaccination status of their drivers. The company will provide the incentive to vaccinate up to 80% of its drivers and they hope to reach the 60% mark by the 18th of September.

The app also shows the driver’s body temperature and it is mandatory for each driver to enter their temperature every time they are logged in. While the drivers are constantly educated about the new safety measures and improvements to the apps stickers and placards are also introduced to indicate the vaccination status of drivers. The company has also partnered with the Sri Lanka Police to organize temperature checkpoints around Colombo and Kandy.

PickMe also offered a generous LKR 150 discount to all passengers who booked rides in the app to travel to the nearest Co-vid vaccine centers. The promotion was present for over 3 months which saw over 5000 passengers take advantage of it. After taking a look at the current situation the company has once again reinstated the promotion.
