Dentures are custom-made removable appliances that help to replace missing teeth. They mimic the shape, size, and color of natural teeth to help in eating and to bring back a beautiful smile. At My Dentist, we provide acrylic, metal, and flexible valplast dentures.

Dentures are removable appliances which are used as a replacement of missing teeth and tissues. They are the artificial teeth which enable the normal functioning of the human mouth. Dentures are of two types, complete & partial.

After the dentures – Do’s

  • Soak your dentures overnight in water or the solution given by your dentist.
  • Rinse your dentures before putting them on in the morning.
  • Brush daily with soft bristles with tooth paste as prescribed by your dentist.
  • Do take care of your mouth, gums, and tongue.

After the dentures – Don’ts,

  • Do not try and bite hard food with front dentures.
    Do not use abrasive substances or appliances when brushing your teeth.
  • Do not use a toothpick or pointed objects on dentures.
  • Do not drop them as they are delicate and may break if you do so.
  • If they loosen, do not try to fix it on your own instead visiting a dentist.

Replacing the dentures

In order to make sure your dentures offer good support for your cheeks and lips, make sure to replace your dentures every 8 to 10 years.

Re-lining the dentures

When your mouth gradually changes in shape over time, your dentures may not fit as well as they used to. In such instances, your dentures can be re-lined.
