Asanth Sebastian Co-founded Ataraxia Capital, is a member of its Board of Directors and Serves on the Investment Committee. He is jointly responsible for leading the investment program at Ataraxia as well as having overall co-executive responsibility for the firm. Asanth heads all the investment teams across Australia (ACP Corum), Singapore (SOF) & Sri Lanka (Arpico Ataraxia). He serves on the Board and overseas the audit and finance committees of all investee companies. His focus more recently has been the expansion of our investor universe into China & Europe. Asanth has direct operational experience, having performed interim management roles in Ataraxia portfolio companies with a specific focus on effecting management and business improvement initiatives. Prior to founding Ataraxia, he worked at the structured product desk of UBS and post that in a management position in equities and structured products at the Australian Stock Exchange. Asanth wrote the course material for the ASX accredited derivatives adviser (ADA) and ASX listed product adviser courses (ALPA) that is the industry standard for financial services professionals in Australia. Asanth holds a Finance & Economics Degree from Macquarie University.

Prof. George J Dias is an internationally recognized researcher and teacher. His primary research focus is in the area of biomaterials for; formulating smart bioactive toothpaste for 21st century dentistry; implantable scaffolds for bone regeneration; biodegradable magnesium alloy based surgical devices; extracting novel edible protein from nontraditional sources. He is also a reputed surgical/clinical anatomy teacher in both undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses. Basis of the above attributes stems from his 16 years’ experience in clinical dentistry and oral & maxillofacial surgery, which led him to take up academia at the University of Otago (1999). He has published extensively in clinical anatomy, paleopathology, and biomaterials. He has 91 publications, including 4 patents, 7416 citations, and a h-index of 29. His current focus is translational research related to bioactive ceramics for oral hygiene, degradable natural polymeric bone substitute and dental tissue regeneration materials; magnesium based biodegradable orthopaedic devices; bioactive hydroxyapatite for bone regeneration; absorbable suture materials with wound healing properties; and extraction of premium edible protein from keratinous raw material.
Dr Cooray graduated from the Dental School, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ceylon in 1972. He became a life member of Sri Lanka Dental Association in the same year. He was elected as the Treasurer of SLDA in 1976 and was the Editor of SLDA journal in 1977 and 1978. He was elected as the Honorary Secretary in 1982. The first ever International Conference was held with him as the Secretary of the Organizing Committee Dr Cooray was the Treasurer in 1983 to 1987 for a period of 5 years, then he served as Vice President, President Elect and finally the President in 1991. During his term as President, he led a delegation of 24 members for the ASIA Pacific Dental congress (APDC). Dr Cooray was elected as a Vice President of Asia Pacific Dental Federation, the position he held till 1996. He was the first Sri Lankan elected to the Council of APDF. From 1992, until the congress was held, he was the Chairman of the Promotions Committee which had to work tirelessly to bring the foreign delegates for the meeting during a difficult and insecure period in Sri Lanka’s history. At the 4th Triennial meeting held in Kenya in 2003. Dr Cooray was elected as the Vice President to represent the Asia Pacific Region. Dr Cooray served the OPA in various capacities in the executive council including its General Secretory (the only Dental Surgeon to hold this office) and its President in 2006. He was the Chairman of the new building committee which was responsible for the management of the construction of the new building where the present SLDA office is housed.
