The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) on Wednesday printed Rs. 119.08 billion, the highest reported amount printed in a single day.
With the record amount printed on Wednesday, the total amount added to financial markets this year rose to Rs. 432.77 billion. Accordingly, domestic holdings of the CBSL increased from Rs. 1,416.74 billion to Rs. 1849.51 billion.
The news follows global ranking charts where the SL Rupee was named the worst-performing currency in the world. Inflation in Sri Lanka is at an all-time high, with the island nation ranking 6th on global inflation charts.
